ELIZABETHTOWN — An Elizabethtown man was arrested on several drug charges last Thursday stemming from an undercover operation.

William Herbert Moore, 59, of 210 S. Newton St., was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; trafficking in opium; manufacturing marijuana; and maintaining a dwelling for marijuana and hydrocodone, Elizabethtown Police Chief Bobby Kinlaw said. He is still in the Bladen County Jail on a $52,500 secured bond, he said.

Moore was arrested at his home around 11:40 a.m..

“The arrest was a result of a 6-month joint undercover operation with the Elizabethtown Police Department and the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office,” he said. “It was a part of an ongoing effort to get drug dealers off the street.”
