BLADENBORO — Two men were arrested on drug charges during an April 29 traffic stop on Ronald Britt Road.

Terry Wayne Baxley, 42, of 3112 Zipo Lane, Lumberton, was charged with trafficking methadone; possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methadone; and maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, Bladen County Sheriff Steve Bunn said. He was booked in the Bladen County Jail on a $100,000 bond and was later released by the court, he said.

Marcus Dwayne Williams, 45, of 315 Ronald Britt Road, Bladenboro, was charged with conspiracy to traffic methadone, Bunn said. He was booked on a $10,000 bond and was also released by the court, he said.

The arrests stemmed from a joint investigation by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and the Bladenboro Police Department. About 20 methadone tablets were seized during the traffic stop, Bunn added.
