Two arrested after shooting man during home invasion

ELIZABETHTOWN — Two have been arrested after an Elizabethtown man was shot multiple times in his home early Saturday morning.

Carlos Barrios of 1028 Mercer Mill Road is in serious condition in New Hanover Regional Medical Center after being shot five times in his lower body during a home invasion around 3 a.m., Bladen County Chief Deputy Phillip Little said.

Akeem Brown, 19, and Natasha Rogers, 34, both of Martin Luther King Drive in Elizabethtown, have been arrested, Little said. Brown has been charged with attempted homicide, armed robbery, burglary and kidnapping, and Rogers is facing charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to reports.
