A return to God is necessary

I read the verses that appear every Friday in the Bladen Journal from the Book of Amos. In today’s (Jan. 27) newspaper, it shows all of Israel at the temple supposedly worshipping God with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him.

Amos preached hard trying to get Israel to repent, but they did not. They kept on partying and sinning against God.

So God sent the 10 northern tribes of Israel into slavery. They were not Jews; the only Jews were from the tribe of Judah.

The leaders of the northern tribes was Ephraim and Manasseh. The tribes lost who they were, in time. Today though, with history and Scriptures, it is possible to know.

The founding fathers of America were from the tribe of Ephraim. Manasseh is Great Britain, where today there is no empire.

No nation or empire came to power as quickly as the United States. Once the birthright was given, if the people turned from God, they would lose all and be sent into slavery.

Like our forefathers from ancient Israel, we are going to be sent into slavery — and very soon, too.

For the most part, we are giving God lip service and, by doing so, we are deceiving ourselves.

Praising the Lord and believing in Him alone is not enough. We must keep His commandments, as well. Jesus Christ said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”

America is on the verge of total collapse. The Democrats and Republicans cannot save our nation.

If we repent and return to God, He will forgive and save us. The choice is ours, and the time is now.
