He served in the United States Army and was predeceased by his parents, Golbsy and Kate Guyton; four brothers, Beauford Guyton, Grady Guyton, G. P. Guyton and Hoyt Guyton; and one sister, Frances Smith.
A funeral service was scheduled for Monday, March 24, 2008, at 4 p.m. at Bladen Funeral Home Chapel in Elizabethtown. The Rev. David Rutland officiated. Burial followed in Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
A visitation was held at Bladen Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23, 2008, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Russ Guyton of the home; two sons, Clifton Guyton of Elizabethtown and Charleston Guyton of Bladenboro; two sisters, Lois Guyton and Joyce Sapp, both of Bladenboro; and two grandchildren.
