With the coming of spring and the warm summer months comes daylight savings time. With the welcome warming of the temperatures, the Bladen County Solid Waste has announced the hours of operation for its collection centers located around the county extended as of yesterday.
The new hours will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the days of operation for the collection centers. Gloria Dove, spokesperson for Bladen County Solid Waste, says the days the centers will be open, however, will not change.
Bladen County Manager Greg Martin says the extended hours will be welcomed by many folks in the county.
“Many people have to work and the winter hours made it inconvenient for some folks,” said Martin.
He says the new hours are only for daylight savings time and the changes will be posted at the collection centers.
“I know people will probably be pleased to hear about that,” Martin said.
Dove said, “The hours of operation will be back to 12 hours on the days that each individual site is open. We don’t know right now if this time change will be a permanent.”
