Bladen County residents will have an opportunity to hear the proposal for affiliation, assumption and sale of Bladen County Hospital to Cape Fear Valley Health System in Fayetteville and ask questions. CFV CEO Mike Nagowski is anticipated to attend the public hearing along with BCH CEO David Masterson to help answer questions and address concerns.

A presentation will be made by CFVHS representatives explaining the partnership and how it will benefit both CFV and the residents of Bladen County. Representatives from the BCH Board of Trustees and the Bladen County Commissioners will also be in attendance to answer questions.

Clinton Weaver, spokesman for CFVHS, said, “We look forward to attending the public hearing and learning what the public has to say. We are excited about the proposed partnering between the two organizations.” Weaver said the affiliation was the culmination of “a lot of hard work” by many people.

Copies of the affiliation documents are available to the public for review in the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown, the Bladen County Manager’s office, and online at www.bladeninfo.org.

Once the public hearing is complete, the Bladen County Commissioners will make their final decision regarding the affiliation process during their scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 25.
