To celebrate North Carolina Sweet Potato Month, the North Carolina Sweet Potato Commission is inviting cooks to enter the Get Fresh with North Carolina Sweet Potatoes recipe contest. The contest ends April 15. Rules and information may be found at www.getfreshwithsweetpotatoes.com.

"This is our first national recipe contest and we are overwhelmed with the response we are getting," said Sue Johnson-Langdon, Executive Director of the North Carolina SweetPotato Commission.

"There will be four first-place prizes of $500. They will come from each of four recipe categories - soups, salads, sides and sweets. A grand prize of $3,000 will be selected from the four first-prize winners," she continued.
