Love is in the air Feb. 14 at Lu Mil Vineyard’s Valentine’s Day Dinner Theatre.

While treating your pallet to a Ribeye steak with all the trimmings, “Love on the Vine” is an evening filled with romance, music and comedy by Jaenicke Productions. The cost of the entire evening is $70 per couple.

The musical production marries romantic and classic Broadway songs with audience- engaging comedy routines about the things we do for love.

Jaenicke Production’s nine-performer troupe is led by Kendrix Singletary. He has played leads roles in "Miss Saigon," "The Wiz" and "Ain't Misbehavin'." He has been seen in the movies "Freedom Song" and "The Company." Singletary is currently working on his debut album. He recently finished a six-month Carnival Cruise Line Tour.

Show director Deborah Jaenicke has been an actress, director and producer for more than 35 years. She has worked in more than 200 regional and professional productions. She is the creative director for Jaenicke Productions and the North Carolina Children’s Theatre.

Jaenicke says “Love on the Vine” will rekindle your flames.

“It’s a romantic trip down lover’s lane,” Jaenicke said. “We’ve put together songs that pull at your heartstrings and tickle your funny bone. February 14 is a day when you show that someone you love exactly how you feel about them.”

Musical director Joshua Nobles, who has attended the North Carolina School of the Arts and performed with the Winston Salem Symphony Orchestra, strings together steamy love songs and sassy Broadway tunes from the Big Band era to the days of Doo Wop to modern standards. The show will also feature visits from a misguided Cupid and the Lu Mil’s favorite relationship therapist Dr. Wuth Westingheimer.

Lu Mil Vineyard is a family-owned business located at 438 Suggs-Taylor Road. Its 8,000-square-foot banquet hall is the backdrop for the romantic affair. The facility is used for weddings, concerts and community and civic events.
