BOLTON - Marvin Beatty Jr., 62, of Gum Swamp Road, died Friday, September 2, at his residence.
He was a logger.
The funeral was conducted Thursday at Townsend Temple First Born Church by Elder Alonza Howard. Burial was in the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Beatty is survived by his wife, Mamie L. Beatty; five daughters, Claudette Bell of Vero Beach, FL, Irise Michelle Hampson, Jareline Beatty and Vareline Howard of Bolton, and Mamie Levender Bowen of Hallsboro; four sons, Marvin Sylvester Beatty III of Whiteville, Isaac Lemuel Beatty of Vero Beach, FL, Clifton Daniel Rhodes of Dayton, OH, and Michael Oneal Beatty of Newport News, VA; his mother, Janie Mae Beatty of Bolton; three sisters, Rutha Mae Shaw and Janie Rose Freeman of Riegelwood, and Blanchie Knotts of Maco; six brothers, Cleo Beatty and Alton Beatty of Bolton, Kenneth Beatty of East Arcadia, Theodore Beatty of Council, Lester Beatty of Raleigh, and Nathan Beatty of Leland.
Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville handled the arrangements.
