Jeri Lynn Lewis reeled off nine straight service points in the decisive third set as Clarkton School of Discovery captured a 25-10, 23-25, 15-9 Bladen Five Middle School Conference tournament semi-final victory over Tar Heel at Elizabethtown Tuesday.

Brittany Dockery opened the third set with an ace and two service points for the Lady Blue Devils. Amanda Abbott answered with a pair of service points for the Lady Panthers.

Lewis' winning service run produced a 12-4 Clarkton lead. Audrey Schumacher rallied Tar Heel to within 13-9 with three service points, but Katie McDaniel connected for the winning service point for CSD.

Dockery and Abbott traded aces to start the first set. With the score knotted at 4-4, Molly Green knocked in five service points for a 9-4 Lady Blue Devil lead.

Berkleigh Pridgen pounded in a trio of serves to stretch the margin to 15-7. Tar Heel's Catherine Brisson drilled an ace and another winner to narrow the gap to 16-9, before Morgan McQueen served out the match, nailing three aces in a run of nine service points for Clarkton.

The teams traded points to start the second set until Brisson and Erica Childress collected two service points each for a 7-4 Lady Panther lead.

Green rallied the Lady Blue Devils with three service winners to tie the set at 8-8. The teams swapped points again until Abbott hammered in five service points to push Tar Heel ahead 17-13.

Hannah Hatcher came off the Clarkton bench to blast a pair of aces and three more service winners for a 20-17 Clarkton advantage. Brisson delivered a pair of service points to tie the game again at 20-20.

Childress smacked an ace in a string of three service points that vaulted the Lady Panthers in front 24-22, and a return winner closed the set at 25-23.
