MOYOCK - Evelyn Cain Benton Garrett, 77, of 106 Porpoise Street, died Monday, July 4, at the Albermarle Hospital.
She was a native of Bladen County, a daughter of the late Owen B. and Annie Coble Cain.
The funeral service will be conducted today (Friday) at 1 p. m. at the Pilmoor United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Scott Wilson-Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the Moyock Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Garrett; two sons, Dale Benton of Goldsboro and Gale Benton of Moyock; five sisters, Mildred Davidson and Carolyn Peterson, both of Garland, Lois Bowman of Charlotte, Alta Mae Budd of Fayetteville, and Elzola Padgett of Ammon; two brothers, Beatty Cain Jr. of Fayetteville and David Cain of Clarkton; three grandchildren, Tiffany Rodriguez, Christine Benton and Christopher Benton, and three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the residence at 106 Porpoise Street.
Twiford Funeral home of Elizabeth City is handling the arrangements.
