Lady Knight jayvees beat Gray's Creek

The West Bladen jayvee softball team defeated Gray's Creek 11-1 Friday afternoon at West Bladen to remain undefeated in Tri-Six Conference play.

West had a 6-1 lead going into the bottom of the fifth inning before exploding for five runs to end the game in five innings.

Sandy Patterson reached first on an error, Madilyn Smith was hit by a pitch, and Burisha McKenzie walked, loading the bases for the Lady Knights.

Kristin McMillan was hit by a pitch and that brought home Patterson. Danielle Baysden nailed a double to left center field scoring Smith, McKenzie, and McMillan.

Kayla Guyton smacked a double to left field bringing home Baysden for the victory.

Sophomore Jill Kinlaw pitched the entire game for the Lady Knights. Kinlaw gave up one hit, three walks, and struck out two, improving her record for the season to 6-2.

Danielle Baysden led the Lady Knights at the plate going 2-for-2 with two doubles, a walk and three RBI's.

Nicole Smith batted 1-for-1 with a sacrifice bunt, a walk, and a RBI. Brandi Packer was 1-for-2 with a sacrifice and a RBI, Kayla Guyton was 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, and the winning RBI.

Tiffany Graham was 1-for-3, Burisha McKenzie was walked twice and hit by a pitch, Kristin McMillan drove in a RBI, Sandy Patterson and Madilyn Smith had a walk each.

West Bladen is schedule to finish its season at Clinton Thursday.
