WHITEVILLE-James Alfred Hines, of 351 Old Glade Road, died Sunday, January 30, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. He was 54.

He was a truck driver.

The funeral will be conducted today (Friday) at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Bolton by Rev. Gaylan Bryant. Burial will follow in the Restwell Cemetery #2, Bolton.

Mr. Hines is survived by two daughters, Melanie Black of Whiteville and Crystal Cherry of Greensboro; his stepmother, Beatrice Hines of Riegelwood; eight brothers, Herbert Hines Jr. of Wilmington, Willie Lee Hines of Leland, Bobby Hines, Wendell Hines, Kendell Hines and Herbert Hines Jr. of Riegelwood, and Robert Hines and Johnnie Lee Porter of Florida; and five sisters, Shirley Brown and Carolyn Hines of Riegelwood, Alene Avant of New York, Martha Avant of Florida, and Eloise Johnson of Wilmington.

A viewing will be held at Peoples Funeral Home in Whiteville today from 9 a. m. till noon, and at the church following the service.

Friends may visit at the home of Shirley Brown, 318 Lock and Dam Road #1, Riegelwood.
