KANNAPOLIS - David Elery Hester Jr., formerly of Bladenboro, died Wednesday, January 19, at Northeast Regional Medical in Concord. He was 70.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p. m at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Burial will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
Mr. Hester is survived by his children, Rosemary H. Thompson and David E. Thompson III, both of Bladenboro, Dewey Marvin Hester of Castle Hayne, and Carla Eudy of Charlotte; two sisters, Peggy H. Adams of Abbottsburg and Patsy H. Johnson of St. Pauls; a brother, Ben R. Hester of Alexandria, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 till 3 p. m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Whitley's Funeral Home, 1747 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. in Kannapolis, is handling the arrangements.
