COUNCIL - Chester Russ, of 483 Cord Road, died Tuesday, December 7, at Columbus County Hospital. He was 92.
The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p. m. at Kitchen Branch Missionary Baptist church, Council, by the Rev. Patrick McNair. Burial will be in the Carvers Creek Church cemetery.
Mr. Russ is survived by four daughters, Geneva Blackmon, Theresia Simpson and Aggie Freeman, all of Council, and Lucy Lewis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sons, Verdie Russ of Council, Clarence Russ of Providence, R. I., and Sidney Russ of Brooklyn, N. Y.; two sisters, Cathrine Brown of St. Albany, N. Y., and Lula Mae Lennon of Pennsylvania; 24 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
There will be a public viewing today (Friday) from 1 till l5 p. m. at Johnson's Funeral Service in Elizabethtown.
Johnson's is handling the arrangements.
