ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Earl J. Singletary, of Edgemoor Lane, died June 19. He was 83.
Mr. Singletary was born in Bladen County. He was a World War II veteran, having served with the U. S. Marines in Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
The funeral service was conducted Friday, June 25, at Demaine Funeral Home. Burial followed at Quantico National Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Stella Lena Singletary; two sons, Gary Singletary and Richard Singletary; a daughter, Deborah S. Ridgen; two brothers, Paul R. Singletary of Lumberton and Clyde Singletary of Wilmington; two sisters, Helen S. Taylor of Tabor City and Colleen S. Ehrlich of Myrtle Beach; and four grandchildren, Gary Singletary Jr., Michael Singletary, Michele Singletary and Shean Ridgen.
