U.S. Army officials have announced that a joint exercise involving elements of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Special Operations, as well as forces provided by the United Kingdom, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, France, Germany and Peru, will be held in an area that spans from Smithfield in the north to Whiteville.
Officials say the "live component" exercise, which will run daily from June 12 through June 21, 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., will involve operations throughout the several-county area.
During this period, former Sovier Union surface-to-air and surface-to-surface launch vehicles will be moving through the countryside.
