Families First, Inc. in partnership with the North Carolina Justice Academy sponsored a two-day seminar for law enforcement on March 16-17.

The seminars entitled "Thinking Errors of Sexual Offenders" and "Obsessive Love-Jealousy to Murder," focused on investigation of domestic violence murders as well as investigation of both adult and child sexual assaults. The seminar was funded by a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) grant from the Governor's Crime Commission awarded to Families First, Inc.

Special Agent Michael Prodan of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Special Operations-Behavioral Science Unit, conducted the training.

Prodan is one only 34 graduates worldwide of the FBI's Police Fellowship in Criminal Investigative Profiling and Crime Scene Analysis. He is a graduate of California State University and has also attended training with the United States Secret Service at their National Threat Assessment Center in Washington, D.C.

Fifty-one law enforcement officers from across the state attended the seminar as well as other human service workers in the area.
