Michele A. Bowen, author of the novels, Church Folk and Second Sunday, will be in the Bladen Community College Library on Tuesday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. to talk with guests and sign her books.

Bowen graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Master of Arts in History and a master's degree in public health.

Her first novel, Church Folk, rocketed to number one on the Essence bestseller list upon publication.

Bowen's second novel, Second Sunday, is a co-publishing venture between Walk Worthy Press and Warner Books, publishers of works of fiction and nonfiction that glorify God.

Second Sunday takes readers deep into African American church life, and the novelist deftly balances romance, church politics, and spirituality to offer lessons on the power of love and forgiveness, and the strength of community.

This program is sponsored by the Bladen Community College Diversity Committee and the Bladen Community College Library.

For further information, contact the BCC library at 879-5641.
