COUNCIL-J. C. McDuffie, of 170 Railroad Street, died Wednesday, November 26, at his residence. He was 73.
A Bladen County native, he was a retired Army Sergeant First Class. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Meshaw McDuffie, and a son, Rocky Lee McDuffie.
A graveside service was held Sunday at 2 p. m. at Mt. Horeb Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Janice Saxon.
Mr. McDuffie is survived by a son, Jackie McDuffie of Raleigh; three sisters, Mildred M. Davis of Greensboro, Velma M. Huffstetler of Wilmington, and Hazel M. Cox of Andrews; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Gaskins Funeral Home of Clarkton handled the arrangements.
