HOLDEN BEACH - Herbert Eugene Cain, formerly of Elizabethtown, died Friday, July 11. He was 72.

Before moving to Holden Beach several years ago, Mr. Cain was a well-known garage operator and vehicle mechanic in the Elizabethtown area.

He was preceded in death of a daughter, Cheryl Cain Lee.

The funeral was conducted at 4 p. m. Sunday at Sandy Grove Baptist Church of Bladenboro by the Rev. Jimmy Strole. Burial was in Bladen Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Cain is survived by Hazel Cain of Bladenboro; a daughter, Melody Cain of Shallotte; a stepdaughter, Yvonne Freeman of Lumberton; four sisters, Emmy Dell Clark of Elizabethtown, Marie Estacion of Florida, and Vann Floyd and Tonnie Kinlaw, both of Lumberton; a brother, Ronnie Cain of Bear Creek; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Wilmington.

Arrangements were handled by Lewis Funeral Home of Bladenboro.
