GARNER - Neva Ellen Beasley Melvin, 92, died at her home Friday, July 4.
She was the widow of Austin B. Melvin. She was a homemaker, a textile worker, and a minister. She was an avid fundraiser for the establishment of new churches.
The funeral service will be held Sunday at 3 p. m. at the Church of God of Prophecy in Garland with the Revs. James Barker and Thomas Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens of Salemburg.
She is survived by three daughters, Louise Melvin Chester of Garner, Carla Melvin Huddler of Columbus, Ind., and Magdalene West of Raleigh; a brother, James Alton Beasley of Georgetown, Ind.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 7 till 9 p. m. at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.
