ELIZABETHTOWN -Stephen Edison Dowless Sr. died Wednesday, June 18, at Mariner Health Care in Wilmington. He was 76.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet D. Winstead. He was retired from the construction business.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a. m. at Bladen Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ken Hall officiating.
Mr. Dowless is survived by his wife, Edna Earl Dowless; three sons, Steve Dowless, Wilbur Dowless and Michael Dowless, all of Center Road; two sisters, Barbara Wilson of Waco, Texas, and Frances Knight of Robbins; a brother, Woody Dowless Jr. of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held tonight (Friday) from 6 till 8 p. m. at Kinlaw Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
Kinlaw is handling the arrangements.
