The Clarkton major team improved to 3-0 after defeating Tar Heel by the score of 16-0.

Clarkton used six hits and four walks to secure the win.

Tar Heel's only threat to score came in the second inning when they loaded the bases with only one out. A double play by Clarkton ended the chance of scoring.

B.J. Womack went the distance on the mound for Clarkton. Womack allowed only one hit, walked two, and struck out three batters.

Leading Clarkton at the plate were TerJuan Burney and James Antone with two hits each. Billy Marsh and Trent Martin added one hit apiece.

Bladenboro Braves 4

The Clarkton major team improved their record to 4-0 by defeating the Bladenboro Braves 9-4.

Clarkton held the Braves scoreless through two innings. The Braves scored one run in the third and three in the fourth to tighten the score to 7-4.

The Braves held Clarkton scoreless for three innings before Clarkton was able to add two more runs in the sixth inning.

Kadeem South was the winning pitcher for Clarkton. He allowed three hits, walked seven, and struck out eleven batters.

JaQuan Meares and James Antone lead Clarkton with three hits each, Marquel Jones had two hits and TerJuan Burney added one.

Bladenboro Gators 30

Tar Heel 9

The Bladenboro Gators defeated Tar Heel 30-9 last week in Bladen County coach-pitch action.

Clay Allen led the Bladenboro attack, batting 4-for-4 with two home runs.

Owen Babson, Travis Bowen, C.J. Singletary, Brett Jackson, Parker Allen, Jordan Hughes, Josh Autry, Travis Walters, and Matthew Wells all collected three hits apiece.

Austin Jernigan added two hits for the Gators who improved their record to 3-0 on the season.

Bladenboro Gators 27

Dublin 7

The Bladenboro Gators ran their record to 4-0 Monday after taking a 27-7 win against Dublin.

Owen Babson and Clay Allen led the Gators, both batting 4-for-4. C.J. Singletary, Brett Jackson, Parker Allen, Josh Autry, and Matthew Wells all added three hits each.

Travis Bowen, Evan Felts, and Channing Horton collected two hits each, while Travis Walters and Jordan Hughes contributed with one hit apiece.

"The kids are playing great." said Coach Joey Butler. "Scoring 57 runs in two baseball games is unheard of. They are really putting the ball in play and running the bases well."

The Clarkton Pirates Coach-Pitch team improved their record to 6-0 overall on Wednesday night, April 30, after they beat Tar Heel, 9-6, in a game played in Tar Heel.

Clarkton scored three runs in the first, one in the second, two in the third, and three in the fifth to take the win.

Tar Heel scored two in the first, one in the third, and three in the sixth.

Leading hitters for Clarkton were Ray Jones, 3-for-3, with a triple and two singles; Cam Smith, 3-for-3, all singles; Joe Johnson, 2-for-3.

Daniel Elkins, 2-for-3, with a double; Jeermon Johnson, 2-for-3, with a home run; Tauren Baldwin, 2-for-3, with a home run; Cody Clark, 1-for-3, with a double; and Johnathan Savage, 1-for-3.

With the win, Clarkton upped its record to 4-0 in league play and 6-0 overall.

Bladenboro Cubs 2

The Clarkton Pirates Coach-Pitch team put another game in their win column last Thursday night after they beat the Bladenboro Cubs, 9-2, in a game played at the Harriet and Henderson DYB Field in Clarkton.

The game was called after three and a half innings because of rain.

The Cubs got on the scoreboard in the first inning with one run off two hits and one Clarkton error.

Clarkton answered in the bottom of the first with two runs. Joe Johnson reached on an error and scored when Cam Smith tripled to center field.

Smith scored on a single by Jeermon Johnson, and Jeermon Johnson was left on base.

The Cubs couldn't score in the second and only got one base runner on.

Clarkton scored three in the bottom of the second. Ray Jones led off the inning for the Pirates with a double to left field and scored when Tauren Baldwin hit a triple to almost the exact same spot.

Baldwin scored off a Wayde Owen single, and Owen scored after Johnathan Savage singled to move him to third and then K.J. McCall singled up the first base line. Savage and McCall were left on base.

The Cubs scored one in the top of the third off one hit and three Clarkton errors. The Pirates added four more runs in the bottom of the third.

Gabriel Long led off and reached on an error. Joe Johnson followed with a single.

Daniel Elkins loaded the bases when he singled down the first base line.

Cody Clark singled, scoring Long. Jeermon Johnson sacrificed to score Joe Johnson and Elkins.

The Cubs couldn't pull out a run in the top of the fourth.

The game was called as a regulation game when a storm came up and halted play.

Leading hitters for Clarkton were Jeermon Johnson, 1-for-1, with a sacrifice; Ray Jones, 1-for-1, with a double; Tauren Baldwin, 1-for-1, with a triple.

Wayde Owen, 1-for-1; Johnathan Savage, 1-for-1; K.J. McCall, 1-for-1; Joe Johnson, 1-for-2.

Daniel Elkins, 1-for-2; Cam Smith, 1-for-2, with a triple; and Cody Clark, 1-for-2.

With the win, Clarkton's record improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.

Bladenboro Cubs 3

The Clarkton Pirates Coach-Pitch team remained undefeated when they beat the Bladenboro Cubs, 7-3, in a game played at Wateree Park in Bladenboro on Wednesday night.

Clarkton jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first when they scored four runs back-to-back in the top of the first.

Joe Johnson led off for Clarkton with a single, and then Daniel Elkins and Cam Smith both reached on Cubs' errors to load the bases.

Cody Clark followed with a single, scoring Joe Johnson. Jeermon Johnson singled, scoring Elkins and Smith.

After two outs, Wayde Owen singled to score Clark. Owen was left on base.

The Cubs couldn't get a runner on in the bottom of the first.

Neither team scored in the second or third innings. In the fourth, Elkins led off for Clarkton, reaching on an error and moved to second on Clark's second single of the night.

Clarkton scored another run in the fifth. After the first Pirates batter grounded out, Owen reached second on an error and scored when Nick Banks reached on another error.

The Cubs scored one in the fifth off two hits.

Clarkton added another run in the top of the sixth. Johnathan Savage led off with a single to left field.

K.J. McCall and Jay Lancaster both singled behind Savage to load the bases and Joe Johnson singled, scoring Savage

The Cubs added two in the bottom of the sixth off two hits and one Clarkton error.

Leading hitters for Clarkton were Cody Clark, 2-for-2; Johnathan Savage, 2-for-2; Joe Johnson, 2-for-3.

Jeermon Johnson, 1-for-2; Wayde Owen, 1-for-2; K.J. McCall, 1-for-2; and Jay Lancaster, 1-for-2.

With the win, Clarkton's record improved to 8-0 overall and 6-0 in league play.
