RIEGELWOOD - Rev. William T. Howard Sr., of 328 Sand Hole Road, died Saturday, February 22, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. He was 73.
Rev. Howard was born May 9, 1929, and was a son of the late Joe Howard and Georgianna Graham Howard.
He served for over 19 years as pastor of Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Rocky Point.
The funeral service was conducted Wednesday at 2 p. m. at St. John #3 Missionary Baptist Church of Freeman by Rev. Darryl Todd. Burial followed in the St. Paul-Freeman cemetery of Bolton.
Rev. Howard is survived by his wife, Mattie Wilson Howard; ten children, William Telphia Howard Jr, Patricia Ann Moultrie, John Wesley Howard, Mattie Elizabeth Brown, Jeffery Demond Howard and Terry Ann Tshona, all of Riegelwood, Marie Anntionette Griffin of Castle Hayne, Devonia Terrell Harrison of Leland, and Alfonza Arnell Howard and Marcus DeMichael Howard, both of Bolton; his foster mother, Laura Graham of Bolton; a stepbrother, Robert Dixon of Brooklyn, N. Y.; a stepsister, Mary Dixon of New York; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Dunn Funeral Home of Burgaw handled the arrangements.
