Mr. Peterson was born May 20, 1927, in Sampson County, and was a son of the late T. R. "Bud" and Carrie Bryant Peterson. He was preceded in death by two sons, Timmy Peterson and Dan Peterson.
The funeral service will be held today (Friday) at Parkersburg Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ronnie Grizzle and Rev. Paul Hewett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Kate Peterson; three sisters, Thelma Melvin and Peggy Davis, both of Garland, and Joann Cottle of Stuart, Fla.; one brother, W. R. Peterson of Garland; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Carter Funeral Home of Garland is handling the arrangements.
