Hardins celebrate 40th wedding anniversary

Wilford and Faye Hardin of Elizabethtown celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on October 21.

To honor their parents, Wilt Hardin of Elizabethtown and Renee Hardin of Chapel Hill hosted a surprise dinner party on Saturday, October 19, at the home of Wilt and Tracy Hardin in Morganwood Estates. Family and close friends attended the celebration.

The Hardins were married on October 21, 1962, at 4 o'clock p.m. at Bluefield United Methodist Church near Clarkton.

Faye is the daughter of the late W. H. Taft and Dorothy Burney McCall of Clarkton and Wilford is the son of the late Henry Thomas and Dora Small Hardin of Barnesville.

Faye serves as the County Executive Director of USDA's Nash County Farm Service Agency and has worked with the agency for 41 years. Prior to taking the position as Director in Nash County in 1999, she worked in the Bladen County Farm Service Agency office.

Wilford, who retired in 1998, continues to stay busy by keeping books for T & T Tire Service in Elizabethtown.

The couple has resided in Elizabethtown since October 1962
