Bladen County is now under a Tropical Storm Watch due to the threat of Tropical Storm Hermine.
According to the National Weather Service, Hermine is moving north-northeast at 12 mph with sustained winds now reaching 60 mph. According to the National Weather Service, the storm track has shifted slightly back towards the east. Strong, gusty winds are expected to impact our area beginning Friday afternoon into Friday night and ending on Saturday morning.
Rainfall amounts are forecast to be between 5 to 7 inches. Flooding of low-lying areas is likely, according to the National Weather Service.
A flash flood watch is in effect through Saturday morning.
