DUBLIN — Students and faculty at West Bladen High School were notified through emails that Wesley Floyd had submitted his resignation as principal of the school.
According to several students and employees of the school, Floyd sent the email saying he had enjoyed working with them but that he would not be continuing as the principal. The Bladen Journal was told that those emails had later been removed.
“Mr. Floyd has submitted his resignation effective June 30, 2016, as principal of West Bladen High School,” said Valerie Newton, the school district’s public relations and information officer. “This is all the information I have available at this time.”
An advertisement for the position of principal at West Bladen was posted on Tuesday under “School Jobs” with the North Carolina Public Schools Application System.
Calls to Floyd at West Bladen on Wednesday morning were not returned.
