TEACHEY — The Lady Knights put the finishing touches on their first undefeated season Thursday, going on the road to face Wallace-Rose Hill and handing the Lady Bulldogs a 9-0 whitewashing to close out the Four County Conference schedule.

West Bladen finished the season 16-0 overall and 8-0 in conference play.

In singles action, No. 1 Alanna Ludlum also finished undefeated on the season with an 8-0 win; No. 2 Amber Long also aced her opponent for an 8-0 win; No. 3 Helen Lopez polished off her foe with an 8-3 win; No. 4 Conner Brisson, the conference tournament singles champion, blanked her opponent 8-0 to go undefeated this season; No. 5 Savannah Lee earned an 8-0 whitewashing and also went undefeated this season; and No. 6 Alyssa Bell took an 8-1 win and went to 8-0 this season.

In doubles, Ludlum and Long improved to 15-0 on the season with an 8-0 win at No. 1; Brisson and Lee took an 8-1 win at No. 2; and the team of Bell and Lopez earned an 8-5 win.

– In Dublin on Thursday, Junior Funez found the back of the net with seven shots Thursday and led West Bladen to a 10-7 win over Union in a Four County Conference match.

The Knights improved to 7-7-1 overall and 2-6 in conference.

Funez tallied a hat trick in the first half with three goals and, along with a goal from Caleb Johnson, took a 4-0 advantage into halftime.

After the Spartans cut the deficit in half with two goals early in the second half, Funez and the Knights went to work — with Funez scoring four goals in the half. Jorchael Gonzales-Monroy and Pablo Ortega each scored for West Bladen during a 6-1 spurt down the stretch.

Union found success in the closing minutes, scoring three goals against West Bladen reserves.

— In Dublin on Thursday, visiting Clinton invaded The Castle and swept the Lady Knights on Senior Day by the scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-21.

The Lady Knights fells to 9-8 overall, 5-6 in the conference.

Morgan Schumacher led West Bladen with nine kills and two aces; Raegan Davis contributed four kills and two blocks; Kassidy Anderson had four kills; Jenna Dove had three aces; Logan Autry had two aces; Kathryn Schultz had two kills; and Patience Parker had two kills.
