Heustess leads Eagles past Union, 5-1


ROSE HILL –The Eagles got a pair of goals and two assists from Greyson Heustess on Wednesday and earned a Four County Conference road win over Union.

Pierce Melvin put East Bladen on the board early in the match with a goal from close range, and Brooks McGill doubled the score 2 minutes later with a goal off a pass from Heustess.

Juts moments later, Heustess races in for a rebound and drilled it home to give East Bladen a 3-0 edge less than 10 minutes into the match.

The Spartans nicked goalie Spencer Scott for a goal midway through the first half, but the Eagles answered with a goal before halftime when Heustess hit Milton Estrada with a pass and Estrada booted home the goal for a 4-1 halftime lead.

In the second half, East Bladen added an insurance goal when Scott booted a ball downfield that was corralled by Heustess and zipped into the net for a 5-1 advantage.

The Eagles are now 8-3-1 overall and 4-2 in the conference.
