ELIZABETHTOWN — A late goal broke a 1-1 knot and gave Clinton a 2-1 Four County Conference win over East Bladen on Wednesday.
The Dark Horses got on the board about 13 minutes into the first half, but several minutes later the Eagles tied things up when Brooks McGill gathered in a pass from Greyson Heustess and buried a shot into the back of the net.
That’s the way the half ended.
The two teams battled back and forth throughout the second half until, with just a few minutes left in the match, Clinton was awarded a penalty kick and took advantage for the winner.
Eagles netminder Spencer Scott recorded 12 saves.
East Bladen is now 5-2-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
