DUBLIN — Bladen Community College will host a public meeting to update the public on current black bear information and discuss bear management.

The meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, at 7 p.m. in the college’s auditorium.

The meeting will also serve as an open forum to receive public opinion regarding future directions for bear hunting and management across the state.

“Meetings like this have proven invaluable to the Commission,” said Dr. David Cobb, chief of the Commission’s Wildlife Management Division. “It’s important that our constituents have the opportunity to voice their opinions and present ideas in an open forum.”

There will be six other public meetings held across the state in August.
