HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Clint Allen, a 2012 graduate of West Bladen High, wrapped up his collegiate baseball career with a South Atlantic Conference Gold Glove Award recently.

Allen, who played four years with the Coker College Cobras, was selected as the conference’s top left fielder with a fielding percentage of .949 that included one outfield assist.

During his senior season, Allen played in 34 games as an outfielder for the Cobras, amassing 23 hits for a .235 batting average. Allen had one double, drove in nine runs and scored 20 times. He also stole 10 bases.

The Cobras finished the season 28-20 overall and 12-12 in the conference.

For his career at Coker, Allen played in 65 games and had a .220 batting average (31-for-141) with a double, 34 runs scored, 12 RBI, 28 walks and 20 stolen bases.

Allen graduated last weekend with a major in medical technology.

He is the son of Nathan and Wendy Allen of Bladenboro.
