ELIZABETHTOWN — Lacey Suggs recorded her third straight hat trick and led East Bladen to a 5-0 win over visiting Randleman in the opening round of the state’s Class 2-A playoffs on Wednesday.

The No. 10 seeded Lady Eagles improved to 19-2 and gained a berth in the second round, where they will face No. 7 seed First Flight.

East Bladen scored four times in the first half, then added an insurance goal in the second half to seal the shutout win.

In addition to the three goals by Suggs — assisted by Hannah Devane, Abby Ward and Ashley Hardin — the Lady Eagles got two goals from Justyna Gargala, each of which were assisted by Suggs.

East Bladen had a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks and outshot the Lady Tigers by a 21-1 margin.
