ELIZABETHTOWN — Lacey Suggs and Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson combined for 41 points Tuesday to lead the Lady Eagles past visiting Heidi Trask for a 67-30 Four County Conference win.
East Bladen improves to 21-0 overall and 11-0 in the conference, while the Lady Titans fall to 0-21 overall and 0-11 in the conference.
The Lady Eagles came out of the gate quickly, putting 24 points on the scoreboard in the first 8 minutes of play, while the defense did its job and held Heidi Trask to just six points in the first quarter.
East Bladen kept the momentum going in the second stanza, outscoring the Lady Titans by a 17-7 margin to extend the lead to 41-13 at intermission.
With coach Patty Evers clearing her bench in the second half, the Lady Eagles and Lady Titans each scored eight points in the third quarter and East Bladen took a 49-21 advantage into the fourth quarter.
The heat was turned up once again by the Lady Eagles down the stretch, as they outscored Heidi Trask by an 18-9 margin to seal the 37-point win.
“(The girls) started fast, which is what we have stressed,” Evers said about her team. “We ran the floor very well … and shot the ball with confidence.
“We just need to continue to play at a high level to make a run in the playoffs,” she added.
Suggs led East Bladen with 21 points and completed her double-double with 10 rebounds along with five assists. Moore-Peterson was right on her heels, scoring 20 points for the Lady Eagles.
Abby Ward contributed 12 steals, nine assists and seven points for East Bladen, while Shardajah Brown tallied six points.
The Lady Eagles will host Wallace-Rose Hill at 6 p.m. on Thursday in a Four County Conference tilt.
