West drops third straight

ROCKY POINT — West Bladen finished off a rough week with a 78-70 Four County Conference loss to conference-leader Heidi Trask on Friday. It was the Knights’ third straight loss in a week that saw them play three games in four days.

West Bladen is now 14-6 overall and 5-5 in conference. The Titams improved to 18-1 overall and 9-0 in conference.

The Knights were playing without backup point guard Kalvin Page, who was lost for the season with a broken hand.

“We played them tough, but without a backup point guard we had to play a lot of zone defense,” said West Bladen coach Travis Pait. “I played more zone in that game than I probably have my whole coaching career.”
