ROCKY POINT — Nine Lady Knights scored Friday as West Bladen handed Heidi Trask a 50-32 Four County Conference loss. It was the Lady Knights’ third game in four days, following back-to-back conference games with Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The win stopped a two-game skid and improved coach Rick Rhoda’s squad to 7-12 overall and 5-5 in the conference.

The Lady Knights opened an 8-5 edge through the first quarter of play behind the scoring of four different players.

In the second quarter, Laikyn Pait scored five points and Jerena Purdie scored four to lead West Bladen to a 15-point burst, extending the lead over the Lady Titans to 23-13 at intermission.

In the second half, Pait bombed in a three-pointer to help give West Bladen an 11-10 edge in the third quarter and extend the lead to 34-23.

Down the stretch, Akira Grimes connected on a pair of buckets and Pait was 4-for-4 at the free throw line, as the Lady Knights outscored Heidi Trask by a 16-9 margin and closed up the 18-point win.

Pait led the Lady Knights with 12 points in the game, while Erika McKoy added eight points. Patience Parker and Purdie each tallied six points for West Bladen.
