LOUISBURG —Farrell Murchison, a 2015 graduate of East Bladen High, rushed for three touchdowns on Sunday to help lead the Louisburg College Hurricanes to a 57-17 blowout of the Methodist jayvee.
Murchison and his twin brother Larrell have been key factors of late in helping 6-0 Louisburg break into the NJCAA’s top 10 for the first time since 2012.
The Huuricanes also boast the nation’s No.1 ranked defense as well as the No. 5 ranked rushing offense in the country.
While these statistics are exciting, first-year head coach Trevor Highfield and his staff continue to preach the focus on the daily process.
“At the end of the season, we’ll count up the wins and see where we’re at,” said Highfield. “We are working every day to create a ‘count on me’ type of atmosphere.”
Louisburg will play in Danville, Va., on Sunday at 2 p.m. against the Averett jayvee and complete its regular season schedule on Saturday, Oct. 31, with a home game at Louisburg High against Nassau Community College at 1 p.m.
