ELIZABETHTOWN — The Lady Eagles completed their Four County Conference regular season with a 9-0 whitewashing of visiting Pender County on Monday.

The win improves East Bladen to 4-5 overall and 4-4 in the conference. The Lady Patriots fall to 0-7 overall and in the conference.

Kathryn Cole earned an 8-0 win at No. 1 singles for the Lady Eagles, followed by a hard-fought 8-6 win at No. 2 by Justyna Gargala. Cassie Hill gave East Bladen an 8-2 win at No. 3, while Maddie West got an easy 8-1 win at No. 4. Ting Lin took an 8-2 win at No. 5 and Trinity Carroll got an 8-1 win at No. 6.

In doubles, Cole and Hill teamed up for an 8-1 win at No. 1; West and Carroll battled to an 8-8 tie at No. 2 before winning the tie-breaker by 10-3; and the duo of Jayme Frady and Lin took an 8-2 win at No. 3.

East Bladen will play in the conference tournament at Clinton on Wednesday.
