BURGAW — West Bladen invaded Pender County High for a Four County Conference volleyball match and won the first two games, then had to battled to come away with a five-set win by the scores of 25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 18-25 and 15-13.
Morgan Schumacher came up big for the Lady Knights with 14 service winners, three aces, six kills and three blocks. Right behind her was Laikyn Pait, who contributed 13 service points and two kills, along with Logan Autry, who added 12 service points.
Kathyrn Schults also had a big match with nine service winners, seven kills and seven blocks. Kassidy Anderson had four kills for West Bladen and Lorna Smith had five kills.
The Lady Knights are now 7-9 overall and 3-7 in the conference.
