Lady Knights finish ‘W’ in tennis


Midway nips West in soccer

ELIZABETHTOWN — The Lady Knights traveled to East Bladen on Wednesday to finish the rain-suspended match from last Thursday with the Lady Knights leading 4-3.

West Bladen able to get the win at No. 1 doubles with a final score of 8-3 and the Lady Knights’ No. 2 doubles team picked up a win by a score of 8-6 to give West Bladen the Four County Conference match by a score of 6-3.

In Dublin on Wednesday, West Bladen fell to visiting Midway 3-2 in a Four County Conference match played in the rain.

The Knights went up early on a goal by Jorcahel Monroe, but the Raiders knotted the match and took the lead with two goals before intermission.

West Bladen got a goal from Luis Labra to tie the match early in the second half, but Midway scored 15 minutes later and held on for the win.

West Bladen is now 4-8-2 overall, 1-5 in conference.
