ELIZABETHTOWN – The Lady Eagles got a mix of fly-paper defense and opportunistic scoring Wednesday and handed visiting Heidi Trask a 53-11 Four County Conference loss.

East Bladen improved to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference.

Ja’Tyra Moore-Peterson led the Lady Eagles through the first frame with seven points as East Bladen opened a 16-4 lead going into the second quarter.

Emily Scott, Patience Ward and Moore-Peterson each canned six points in the second stanza to fuel a 21-0 burst for the Lady Eagles and East Bladen took a 37-4 advantage into intermission.

The Lady Eagles outscored the visitors by a 10-3 margin through the third quarter and opened a 47-7 lead as coach Patty Evers began clearing her bench.

Scoring was at a premium down the stretch, but East Bladen managed to win the period 6-4 and seal the 42-point win.

Moore-Peterson led the Lady Eagles with 19 points and added seven rebounds, six steals and five assists. Ward added 12 points along with six steals and Scott contributed eight points along with eight boards. Ashley Hardin and Yolanda Coston each grabbed seven rebounds.
