Your portrait could help save a life.
Registered representatives of the White Lake-Bladen County Water Rescue team begin going door-to-door in the community this week, seeking donations for the department. Each will carry a letter of introduction on the squad letterhead.
For each donation, patrons will receive a certificate for a complimentary 11"x14" color portrait.
Donations will go to the purchase of a new dive truck for the unit.
Photos will be taken June 30 at the rescue building on N.C. 53 at White Lake. Packages will also be available.
The Water Rescue Team specializes in rescuing and recovering victims of boat, car or swimming-related accidents that occur on or near water. The team also assists in searches for missing persons and investigations by law enforcement.
