DUBLIN — The Knights Castle will be stuffed to the rafters tonight when West Bladen plays host to Burlington Cummings High in the sectional finals of the state’s Class 2-A Mideast playoffs.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
“The fans here at the Castle have been really great,” West Bladen coach Travis pait said. “And the team feeds off that. So I hpoe to see a lot of folks at this next game cheering us on.”
The 18-7 Cavaliers, seeded No. 8, come into the matchup after upsetting the No. 1 seeded Trinity High in the second round on Wednesday, 59-53.
The 21-6 Knights, seeded No. 5, are on a five-game win streak and are coming off a 75-44 thrashing of Northwood High — a rematch of last season’s Eastern Region semifinals in Fayetteville that West Bladen lost, 53-51.
The winner of tonight’s game will face the winner of No. 2 Reidsville High, 24-3, versus No. 3 Fairmont High, 23-4, next week.
