On behalf of the Bladen County Educational Foundation, Inc., I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank everyone who participated in our “Jail-A-Thon.” Your efforts and generous donations helped us raise nearly $5,000 to date, to assist the students and educators in the Bladen County Public School System.

The outpouring of support and assistance was more than we had expected and I truly believe that everyone who participated and allowed himself or herself to be arrested thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Our special thanks go out to the folks at the Bladen Journal for their continued support and help in making this event such a success , along with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and, also, the Elizabethtown and White Lake police departments, for their generous help and assistance in “arresting” these hardened criminals. Many thanks are also owed to the numerous volunteers who assisted in helping the Foundation exceed its goal.

Our appreciation also goes out to Dr. Robert Taylor and everyone at the Bladen County Board of Education for assistance the day of our fundraiser and, also, for the use of their facilities for our “jail.” I would also like to thank all of the contributors and donors for their help and generosity.

Again, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all of those in the community who participated and helped us raise this money for public education. The Foundation hopes to continue to make this an annual event and we welcome all to our group and hope to be of assistance to Bladen County for many years to come.

Sincerely,

David G. Wall
