DUBLIN — The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has scheduled a public meeting to hear comments on a proposal to prohibit the use of dogs for taking deer on approximately 1,700 acres of Bladen Lakes State Forest Game Land in Bladen County.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, in the Bladen Community College Auditorium, which is located at 7418 N.C. Hwy. 41West in Dublin.
The proposed change involves two game land locations — one area west of Hwy. 242 along the property boundary north of Hwy. 53, and a second area east of Hwy. 242 and north of Johnsontown Road in the vicinity of Bladen Lakes Primary School.
The Wildlife Commission has proposed “Restricted Deer Hunting Zone” designation for these areas to address public safety and user conflicts.
