FLORENCE, Ala. — Fans of collegiate bass fishing will get the chance to experience the excitement of the nation’s largest collegiate bass fishing event on Wednesday, Sept. 3, when the 2014 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship airs on the NBC Sports Network at 12:30 p.m.
The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship is the marquee event of three nationally televised tournaments hosted as part of the Cabela’s Collegiate Bass Fishing Series that includes the Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash and Collegiate Bass Fishing Open.
These no-entry fee events are open to all full-time students of university-recognized fishing programs.
“The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship is the tournament that every college angler dreams about all year round,” said Director of College Operations, Wade Middleton. “It is the largest collegiate fishing tournament in the nation and gives these guys a chance to compete against some of the best collegiate anglers around.”
Fans can watch the premier airing of the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Day 2 action on Wednesday Sept. 10, at 12:30 p.m. Watch as nearly 200 teams from across the country converge on Lake Pickwick in Florence, Alabama for what shapes up to be an epic battle on the water.
Several different strategies unfold, with some working out well, others backfiring along the way and some students head home heroes, while others are heartbroken over what could have been.
