SPOKANE, Wash. — Saquan Johnson is heating up in the Class A short-season Northwest League and belted his third home run of the season on Thursday.


For the week, Johnson was 6-for-25 and drove in four runs.


Johnson, an East Bladen High graduate now playing for the Spokane Indians in the Texas Rangers organization, opened the week on Monday, July 21, with an 0-for-3 night out of the No. 9 hole in the batting order. He grounded into a pair of double-plays, but the Indians took a 3-0 win.


On Tuesday, July 22, Johnson put together a 2-for-4 night with and RBI single in the second and an RBI single in the sixth. But Spokane lost, 10-4.


Wednesday, Johnson went 1-for-3, crushing a solo home run in the third inning of a 5-2 loss.


The former Eagles star went hitless in four at-bats on Thursday, and the Indians dropped an 8-2 verdict.


On Friday, Johnson went 1-for-3 and scored a run, but Spokane lost its fourth straight, 5-3.


Things turned around for Spokane on Saturday, as they snapped the four-game skein with a 4-1 win. Johnson contributed to the effort with a 2-for-4 night at the plate and drove in a run.


On Sunday, Spokane won its second straight, 4-2, but Johnson was 0-for-4.
